What We Believe


Here at Atlas, we aim to create an environment where we actively promote the education, play and care of children into all aspects of our day. (EYLF = 1a, 1b, 4a, 4d) (NQS = Quality Areas = 1, 2)

We value our partnerships with families as this allows us to acknowledge that they are the first and most influential educators in children's lives. (NQS = Quality Area 6)

We have a holistic view of children and we cater for the whole child to extend their independence and provide choices. (EYLF = 1a, 3a) (NQS = Quality Area 5)

Our primary focus is on nurturing, caring and providing consistency for children in our care. (EYLF = 1a, 1b) (NQS = Quality Area 2, 5)

Here at Atlas, we value children's thirst for knowledge and their abundant curiosity. We believe it is through play and discovery that children ask questions which we can answer and then extend their knowledge by asking further open-ended questions as we discover together. The Early Years Learning Framework provides us with a platform to base our practices on and provides us with a proven method for extending and enriching children's lives. We use the Early Years Learning Framework outcomes, practices and principles to provide a balanced approach to teaching. (NQS = Quality Area 1)

We provide an educational program that includes all key learning areas that are integrated into all aspects of children’s learning and play within the outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework. (NQS = Quality Area 1)

We feel it is important to invite and include our wider community with our centre. We do this by utilising local business pamphlets and brochures to be available for parents to use as resources. We also invite local police and fire departments to make themselves known to the children, so children know they are an important and valuable part of our community. We as a centre also make use of our community to gain resources, support and knowledge. (EYLF = 2a, 3a) (NQS = Quality Area 4, 5, 6, 7)

We acknowledge the importance of building relationships with the community around us as it plays a vital role in children's lives. (EYLF = 2a, 2b, 2d) (NQS = Quality Area 4, 6, 7)

We provide a bridge between care and home to ensure that our care is relevant and nurturing whilst also welcoming parents’ contribution and involvement. (EYLF = 1a, 1b, 1c) (NQS = Quality Area 6)

We focus on establishing and maintaining relationships between staff and families that are supportive, considerate and open. We encourage families to help guide their children's learning by identifying their interests to be used in our curriculum. (EYLF = 4a) (NQS = Quality Area 6)

We constantly provide opportunities for families and staff to evaluate all aspects at the centre. (NQS = Quality Areas 4, 6, 7)

Extending staff knowledge and skills through training opportunities is vital. (NQS = Quality Area 4)

We constantly use reflection in our everyday work practices. (NQS = Quality Area 7)

We provide an environment that embraces Australian society where all children feel respected and valued for who they are whilst respecting those around them. (EYLF = 2b) (NQS = Quality Area 5)

Our diverse menu caters for cultural backgrounds, intolerances, food allergies and religious beliefs whilst meeting daily nutritional requirements. (EYLF = 2b) (NQS = Quality Area 2, 5)
